Project Director – Data Centre Programme – Milan

€120,000 – €125,000 + Package | Permanent (Contract Option Available) | Mission-Critical Programme | Pre-Construction Focus

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Director to lead the pre-construction delivery of a major data centre project in Milan, acting as the senior client-side figure during design, planning, procurement, and strategy.

This role suits a consultancy-trained professional with a strong track record in mission-critical, technology, or complex infrastructure builds — ideally from a PQS, PM, or client advisory background. This is a multi-year programme where you’ll guide project setup, stakeholder governance, cost, and delivery structure before construction begins.

Long-term project. Permanent preferred, but open to contract.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all pre-construction activity including planning, commercial strategy, procurement, and risk
• Act as the senior client-side liaison between developers, funders, contractors, and internal stakeholders
• Build, mentor, and manage the consultant team across design, cost, and scheduling functions
• Report directly to the client’s executive leadership, guiding strategic decisions and project positioning
• Manage design development, tendering, and early-stage contractor engagement
• Establish delivery KPIs, project controls, and reporting procedures

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 10+ years in a senior PM or Director role within client-side consultancy or cost/project management firm
• Proven experience leading large-scale real estate, technology, or mission-critical developments
• Expert understanding of project lifecycles, from pre-construction to mobilisation
• Strong commercial, contractual, and stakeholder management skills
• Capable of leading multidisciplinary teams and aligning multiple workstreams
• Degree-qualified; chartership preferred (RICS, APM, CIOB, etc.)
• Fluent English essential; Italian a bonus
